Do you have an eye for trends, a love for fashion, and strong organizational skills? IPA-NIMA is looking for a Junior Merchandiser to support our product development and production processes. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented individual with strong organizational skills and a passion for fashion and accessories. As a key link between design, production, and suppliers, you will ensure smooth execution from sample development to final production.
Key Responsibilities
Sample Development & Production Coordination
- Translate sample specifications and coordinate closely with the sampling and production manager to track all sample and production developments.
- Place orders for materials required for samples, ensure availability, and maintain accurate records—keeping the manager/director updated on all orders and deliveries.
- Liaise with subcontractors to oversee sample development and ensure timely deliveries.
- Review and approve mock-ups, sample panels, and prototypes to confirm they align with client specifications.
Costing & Material Planning
- Prepare Bill of Materials (BOM) for all samples created, ensuring accurate documentation of components.
- Develop Cost Breakdown (CBD) reports, ensuring all cost details are compiled and sent alongside samples to clients.
- Update and amend the BOM based on revised samples and client feedback to maintain accuracy before production.
- Production Handover & Quality Control
- Verify that the finalized BOM aligns with the approved samples to ensure correct material orders for production.
- Organized final sample specs and approved samples to relevant producers to ensure seamless execution.
- Track production orders and coordinate with suppliers to guarantee timely delivery of materials and finished products.
- Work with QC team to communicate any client-specific requirements noted during the sampling stage.
- Additional Responsibilities
- Assist in raw materials and finished goods inventory management to optimize stock levels.
- Support Directors in additional merchandising, planning, and administrative tasks as assigned.
Qualifications & Skills
- 1-2 years of experience in merchandising, product development, or supply chain in fashion, accessories, or related fields.
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Excel and familiarity with inventory management software.
- Knowledge of materials, trims, and production techniques in handbags or accessories is a plus.
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication skills to liaise with internal teams and external suppliers.
